Myanmar

Myanmar has an abundance of water resources, which are distributed unevenly spatially and temporally. Around 80% of the average annual rainfall of 2,340 mm falls during the monsoon season (May–October) and 20% in the dry season. The catchment area of Myanmar’s eight principal river basins is approximately 737,800 km2, and there are two major natural lakes, the Inle Lake and Indawgyi Lake. Constructed reservoirs have a capacity of 15.46 km3.
