Conference on Watershed Management for Controlling Municipal Wastewater in South East Asia


Five WEPA member countries (Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Viet Nam) joined the Conference on Watershed Management for Controlling Municipal Wastewater in South East Asia which was held on 28 July 2016 in Nagoya, Japan, followed by a site visit on 29 July. It was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Environment, Japan, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transportation and Tourism, Japan and the Japan Sewage Works Association to promote cross-sectorial cooperation to accomplish Target 6.3 of the Sustainable Development Goals which were adopted at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015, which aims at “by 2030, halving the proportion of untreated wastewater”.
