Summary
Water is scarce in the village of Pakandangan Barat. The actions that this traditional Islamic school are the provision of fresh water, construction of irrigation dam, development of seaweeds farming and management of dry land farming with the technique of multi-leveling for the improvement of the quality of life of the society. The first action was the development of water installation as long as 6,500 meters to flow water from the hill to the settlement of people. Then, irrigation dams were built for water resources to water agricultural fields. At the same time the inhabitants started to plant different types of trees, including the farming of seaweeds. Nurul Huda gave the sample multi level farming to prevent erosion. All of these efforts have proven to increase the welfare of the inhabitants and created harmonious and beautiful village environment.
