Summary

She managed to develop the fabrics of Ulap Doyo which is made of a kind of weeds, a pest in plantation and dry farm land. The fabrics of ulap doyo have been known widely and for generations among the people of Dayak Benuaq. The fabrics of ulap doyo is used for shawls, souvenirs, bags, fans, furniture covers, and so on. The process of the making of the fabrics of ulap doyo begins with the selection of dayu leaves that are old enough. The leaves are processes into fabric fiber before it is processed into threats. The threats are knitted into fabrics as required. Sumiyati does not only increase the public welfare but she also provides solution to the environmental problem.
