Case 17: Water dripping technology in West Nusa Tenggara
Type of Activity Agricultural technology
Organization H. Achmad Amin.
Area West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara

Summary

Dusun Agung village is an arid area. Farmers can only harvest once a year in traditional farming. The main problem is lack of water reserve. Achmad Amin managed to develop an estate of mango trees by watering the trees through a perforated clay bowl attached to each of the mango trees. The socialization of the water dripping technology has been done continually to mango farmers until the efforts bring in economic success to the farmers. At least there are 80 hectares of mango estates that use this infuse system. This system guarantees increase of mango production even during the dry season.
