Type of Activity Prospecting Water Resources
Organization Tim Rowi
Area Bondowoso, East Java

Summary

The problem that the inhabitants of this village face is water. Water is scarce and even for drinking they have to take it down in the gorge the water with a poor quality. Very often diarrhea endemic breaks out.  This sad condition motivated Tim Rowi to prospect water resources by crawling up and down the rocky hill sides and gorges. Finally he found a spring in the crack of sloppy stones. He channeled the water with the debit of 6 litters/second as far as 3 kilometers through hills, sloppy hill sides and gorges to put the water in a series of containers consisting of 16 reservoir tanks to be channeled to 753 houses.
