3.8. Medical plants

Local people in coastal areas have traditionally used mangroves, or its associated fauna, for medicine and other purposes. In Koh Kong Province, for example, people often use one mangrove species, namely, Exciecaria Agallocha, to treat diarrhoea. A fungus called Sam Bok Sramoch (literally Home of Ant) is dried and used as a medicine for certain lung diseases. So, there are many traditional uses of mangroves that have been mentioned by other authors.
