WEPA Sessions in 11th International Symposium on Southeast Asian Water Environment (SEAWE11)

Overview
The University of Tokyo and Asian Institute of Technology jointly organized the 11th International Symposium on Southeast Asian Water Environment (SEAWE11) on the 27th and 28th of November in Bangkok, Thailand. WEPA participated in this symposium together with Chuo University as Co-organizers. Participants numbered over 100 and were mainly from the field of academia. WEPA organized sessions at the symposium to provide an opportunity for dialogue and mutual understanding among policy makers and researchers with the aim of improving water environmental governance in Asia. In the first WEPA session, presentations by policy makers and a panel discussion were held in order to discuss a required collaborative framework among policy makers and researchers. On the second day, researchers made presentations and there were discussions and significant exchange of opinions among researches and policy makers. In both sessions, researchers and policy makers held active discussions on how to improve water environment in Asia.
