Overview
The 21st WEPA Annual Meeting and International Workshop took place on 8–9 September 2025 in Putrajaya, Malaysia. It was organised by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, the National Water Research Institute of Malaysia, the Ministry of the Environment, Japan, and the WEPA Secretariat. The event focused on industrial wastewater management, highlighting available policies and their application to different industries. Maintaining the quality of surface water is critical, and improving compliance with regulations is essential. Representatives from 13 partner countries shared information on how regulations are implemented in their respective countries. Three experts from Japan, the Philippines and Malaysia shared their experiences and insights. Participants actively engaged in discussions, asking their colleagues and experts questions and taking part in group discussions.
