The 7th World Water Forum official session “Strengthening Frameworks for Governing and Managing Water Quality”

Overview
Under the theme of ‘Water for Our Future,’ The 7th World Water Forum was held in Daegu & Gyeongbuk of the Republic of Korea from 12th to 17th April 2015.
The WEPA’s activities were showcased by panels and demonstration of septic tank at the pavilion of the Ministry of Environment Japan. On this occasion, the new reports of our activity; “WEPA Outlook on Water Environmental Management in Asia 2015” and “Policy Brief” were released and distributed to visitors of the pavilion. The forum “Strengthening Frameworks for Governing and Managing Water Quality (T.3.3.3)” which was supported by Korea Environment Institute (KEI) and United Nations Office for Sustainable Development (UNOSD) was held in16th April. In the thematic process,PH.D. Mitsumasa Okada, chairperson of WEPA Advisory Committee, delivered a presentation about the WEPA activities that the partner 13 countries including Japan in Asia monsoon zone have cooperated in water environmental management and WEPA’s experiences for this 10 years such as development of information platform, collecting and sharing information among the partner countries. PH.D. Mitsumasa Okada indicated that WEPA will work more specifically on the common subjects for the partner countries toward the enhancement of water environment governance in the future.
